We were up around 7am this morning and it was in 30's outside. Kim and I made a "power decision" to opt out of the morning excursion. And for those of you who know me and follow our adventures you know that is HIGHLY unlike us. But here was our thinking.....we could go on largely a walking tour in the cold, end up with over an hour of free time in a small village, and when the tour was over we'd be bussed to the ship which had moved. OR, we could stay on board for a leisurely morning, cruise thru the morning and then be ready for our early evening excursion. Because we enjoy the cruising AND still had an excursion for the day we decided to stay on board. Kim got a lot of steps in and I enjoyed working in my coloring book my son Brad had made for me for Christmas (the coloring pages are all made by ChatGPT and are from photographs I took on previous trips, cool...right?) We had an early 4:30pm meeting where our program director previewed tomorrow's events and reviewed how the last couple of days of our cruise were being modified slightly because of inability to cruise the Main River at this time. We headed out at 5:30pm for a short walk into the quaint village of Bernkastel where we gathered in a winery. The Moselle River we are on is know for it's white wines. So the four wines we tasted were all right up my alley. Got back in time for an abbreviated happy hour and then dinner at 7:30 to top off another great day. Tomorrow we will arrive in the medieval German town of Cochem where we have a walking tour of the historic town and then will be taken to the top of the hill to tour Reichsbrug Castle. Supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow!
