 Day 10:  Nuremburg To Prague

Our tour of Nuremburg began at 9am today and it was largely a bus tour.  Our guide Peter was great and did a wonderful job of framing the Nazi time period into the history of Nuremburg and Germany overall.  The first stop was at the Zeppelin Field that was used by the Nazi's as a party rally site.  What we saw was huge, but at the time it was six times larger....and this was a small, temporary site.  The more permanent one was under construction when the war broke out and was never finished.  We drove by the famous Nuremburg Courthouse where the Nuremburg Trials of the Nazi leaders took place and we were given some history and perspective on that by Peter.  Our final stop was at the Nuremburg Central Market.  We had an hour and a half to browse and have lunch.  As you can see below we took full advantage of that :)  At noon we saw the glockenspiel go off and then we boarded the bus for the four hour and change trip to Prague.  It was ironic that our hotel, the Marriott is right across the street from the Hilton where we stayed in December on the Christmas Markets cruise.  That made our choice for dinner easy as we returned to the Červený jelen and had a wonderful meal hosted by a very kind waitress.  A good end to a long travel day.
